So, this is me biking across the country

Hopefully I'll have computer access often enough to post updates...I'm biking across Canada this summer. Leaving Vancouver June 28th, arrive in St. John's NFLD on Labour Day weekend.

Hitch hiking has restored my faith in humanity

I’ve hitch-hiked a few times on this trip, and it never ceases to amaze me:

  1. how easy it is
  2. how nice people are

When we were in Sault Ste. Marie, one lady that was camping at the same campground drove 3 of us to a bike shop in the city, then downtown, then picked us up 2.5hrs later from downtown, then drove us back to the bike shop, then back to the campground.  Wow. I’d always thought that hitch-hikers sat at the side of the road for hours before getting picked up, (and maybe I’m just lucky) but I think its probably closer to minutes.
