So, this is me biking across the country

Hopefully I'll have computer access often enough to post updates...I'm biking across Canada this summer. Leaving Vancouver June 28th, arrive in St. John's NFLD on Labour Day weekend.

Photos and stuff will be posted here (photos probably also on facebook), and I'd love to hear your encouragements and such via email or facebook.

Cycling Lingo

This post is so you guys won’t be confused when I talk to you after the trip:

Caidence - rate at which you move your feet when cycling

Grind - slow caidence (“Bob was really grinding up that hill”) —note:  can also be found on dance floors these days ;)

Spin - to hold a relatively fast caidence (“Spinning is much easier on your knees then grinding”) —note: can be found on dance floors where swing music is played

Pull - to ride right ahead of someone, so they can draft off of you (its much easier to be behind)

Pace Line - bunch of riders riding together in a single file line, switching lead position every once and awhile (we usually do every 2km)
